Obehi Y. ★★★★★ : A Serious Warning About Faith Mediplex, Benin City I am sharing this based on a very disappointing and distressing experience at Faith Mediplex in Benin City, particularly for anyone considering taking a family member there for treatment of a chronic or serious medical condition. In my experience, the level of care and professionalism we received was extremely poor. I would strongly advise anyone with a family member who has a chronic or complicated medical condition to think very carefully before choosing this hospital and, where possible, seek care from a facility with experienced specialists and the appropriate level of expertise. One of our major concerns was related to the use of a urinary catheter. We were not properly informed about the differences between the types of catheters being considered, including the potential disadvantages or risks associated with using a particular type. A standard catheter was used without us being adequately educated about whether it was appropriate for the patient’s condition or what complications could arise. What made the situation even more concerning was that two different doctors were unable to properly diagnose the patient’s problem. We expected the doctors to investigate the situation carefully, explain what was happening, discuss the available treatment options, and clearly communicate the risks and benefits of the procedures being carried out. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. The lack of clear communication and the apparent uncertainty surrounding the patient’s diagnosis and treatment left us extremely worried and frustrated. When dealing with someone who already has a chronic illness, families need doctors who are experienced, thorough, and willing to explain every important decision being made about the patient’s care. I am therefore sharing this experience as a warning to other families, especially those caring for elderly people or patients with chronic or complicated medical conditions. Please do your research before choosing a hospital, ask questions about the doctors’ experience and qualifications, and consider seeking a second opinion when you are not satisfied with the diagnosis or treatment being offered. Please do not ignore concerns about your loved one’s treatment. If something does not seem right, ask questions, request the patient’s medical records, seek a second medical opinion, and, where appropriate, make a formal complaint to the relevant medical authorities. This message is based on our personal experience and concerns. I hope sharing it will encourage other families to be more careful and to advocate strongly for their loved ones when receiving medical care.
Akindeko O. ★★★★★ : Mrs Ikebe was admitted under emergency and charged accordingly in respect to medical bill. But medical test never came until a week after the test were conducted, she never received the kind of treatment the family anticipated. Complains by family was poorly handled by the hospital management, and the bill was too high compared to the treatment she received. She went back home not better the way she came, in our view delaying medical report for a week that should used to treat her on the basis of emergency and her level frialness is in our view is a gross medical negligence. Mrs ikebe's condition could have been a bit better if she received medicals attention based the test conducted, I urge the managenent to clarify medical issue and bill with patient or family professional.
