Why they were banned
Harassment + defamation
Banned apps were documented sending mass WhatsApp/SMS broadcasts to a defaulter's entire contact list — naming them as a "fraudster" even when the loan was current.
Why they were banned
Hidden APRs
Effective interest rates often crossed 100% when fees and late-payment charges were rolled in — APRs that were never disclosed in the app's marketing copy.
Why they were banned
Phone-contact harvesting
Many banned apps demanded contact-list access at install — then used those contacts as collection leverage. NDPC consumer privacy rules forbid this.
The full blacklist
If you have any of these apps installed, uninstall immediately, deny contact-list access, and revoke any direct-debit mandate on your bank account. Already harassed? File a complaint with FCCPC at [email protected].
