RANKED VERIFIED means we confirmed a fact — the owner proved control of the listing, a CAC registry record matched, or a reviewer really visited. It is free for every business, it can never be bought, and anyone can check it right here. It is not an endorsement of quality: rankings are earned separately, from real customer activity.
What RANKED VERIFIED certifies
- Owner verification
- The person controlling the listing proved they control the business — a match against the phone number on record, or equivalent evidence. Wrong-owner badges are treated as high-severity bugs: we hold uncertain claims for review rather than guess.
- CAC registry match
- Where a business supplies its RC number, we match it against Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission record. The stronger “CAC Verified” badge marks that match.
- Verified visits
- Reviews marked “verified visit” come from people who contacted the business through Ranked before reviewing. Every review is human-moderated either way.
Verification is factual and free — never sold, never a ranking input, never an endorsement. A verified business earned its badge by proving something checkable; its ranking is earned separately from real customer activity.
