Checking petrol and diesel prices in Nigeria.
A useful fuel-price comparison needs the product, price per litre, location and observation date. A national or state average describes the stations in that report; your station's quote may differ.
Compare like with like
- Product: PMS means petrol; AGO means automotive diesel. Compare the same fuel.
- Unit: record the pump price in naira per litre and any separate delivery charge.
- Place: record the station and town. A state average is not a quote from every station.
- Date: use the date the price was observed, as well as the report publication date.
- Coverage: look for the stations sampled and the method used to calculate an average.
Where to check
Consult the National Bureau of Statistics for its published price reports and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority for official sector information. These links are reference starting points; they do not substantiate the withdrawn table. Check the reporting period on any document you use and confirm today's quote directly with the station.
