Anka W. ★★★★★ : Don't even think of patronizing this place. I have ordered T-Bone steak at the price of 15k. What I got was not something better than regular suya that they sell for 2k on the roadside. I paid and later they came to ask additional of N10.000 saying that they made a mistake and served me ribeye instead. Such a great scam because someone who has tasted almost all types of steak would know that it had nothing to do with rib eye. I strongly advise public to spend their money on somewhere else but never here. This was a real scam. The chef said it is his boss who said it was rib eye but not t-bone steak. How unprofessional.

Focus C. ★★★★★ : I rarely leave reviews, but Potmasters Restaurant truly deserves one. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with genuine smiles and exceptional hospitality. The staff were attentive, patient, and made me feel valued throughout my visit. I ordered the pasta, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. It was rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned, and served fresh and hot. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portion was more than satisfying. You can tell they don't just cook food—they put real care into every meal they serve. What stood out even more was the atmosphere. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has a relaxing vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy a quiet meal, celebrate with friends, or have a business meeting without feeling rushed. In a city where consistency can be hard to find, Potmasters Restaurant has earned my trust. Great food, outstanding hospitality, and an experience that keeps you looking forward to your next visit. I'll definitely be coming back, and I won't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for quality dining in Akure.
kehinde A. ★★★★★ : Well, potmaster restaurant is a really nice place to be for good food anytime any day. The slogan 'sweet food, sweet mood' is a real thing experience there. A very serene environment with topnotch customer service relation. A trial will convince you.

I got home before I realized that the lady literally added to my money. That’s an act of stealing. Although the food was nice but the lady that attended to me indirectly stole from me.

Cyril C. ★★★★★ : I visited Pounded Yam Village recently for lunch. The pounded yam was smooth and the texture was exactly what you'd expect from a place with this name. I paired it with the Egusi soup, which was well-seasoned and flavorful. However, I’m giving three stars because the service was quite slow. It took a while to get the attention of the staff, and the wait for the food was longer than expected. It’s a good spot for authentic local food, but be prepared to wait a bit.

adesola O. ★★★★★ : They need to do better with not compromising standards because they think Akure people will always settle for mediocrity! Your goal and brand image should be priority. I was beyond dissatisfied with the service and food presentation at this restaurant, all orders were placed with pictures/slash videos from their Instagram page yet a totally different meal was presented as see in the pictures attached! The chicken on the chicken platter also tasted too dry and stale, not juicy at all and they insisted they were fresh! Too horrible experience I must say! What about the fumes from the kitchen choking us in the main sit out area! The objectives of this very restaurant should be reviewed!

How to choose safely

What to check before choosing restaurants in Akure

Rankings are a starting point. For this category, these are the checks that most often separate a useful recommendation from a risky one.

Check recency
Restaurants change fast. Recent reviews and photos matter more than old popularity signals.
Match the occasion
Confirm ambience, parking, reservation rules, family-friendliness, and menu availability before going.
Watch consistency
Repeated comments about service speed, cleanliness, portions, and pricing are more useful than one viral review.
