Elijah K. ★★★★★ : A Total Extortion Scam – Avoid At All Costs!! Avoid this place entirely. It is a highly aggressive cash-skimming racket disguised as a luxury venue. Upon entry, staff asked if I wanted to sit down. I agreed and was placed in a standard seat on the main floor. Immediately after sitting, they demanded 100 USD to sit in a chair. When I refused, they forced me onto a barstool tucked directly behind a structural column where the stage was barely visible. The venue was dead, yet the staff continuously harassed me. If I tried to simply stand by the bar area to get a clear view, they demanded I either sit back down behind the blind-spot column or shell out premium cash to sit elsewhere. The price gouging is detached from reality. A basic soft drink will set you back 20 USD. Hoping the night would improve, I maxed out their internal POS terminal withdrawal limit to get cash for tips. Only after processing the transaction did they reveal they were withholding a massive 20% "service charge" on the cash, a predatory hidden fee they completely failed to disclose upfront. Despite the aggressive focus on bleeding my wallet dry, they have zero interest in facilitating actual entertainment. The dancers looked completely bored to death. I eventually gave up, grabbed my ridiculously huge pile of cash, and walked out. It is mind-blowing that a venue can treat paying customers with such blatant hostility and scam tactics. Save your money, protect your peace of mind, and go literally anywhere else in Lagos.

I stayed two nights and left wondering why this property isn't talked about more. The rooms are fully air-conditioned, immaculately clean, and the water quality is something a lot of bigger name hotels in Lekki and Ajah still can't match. You feel the attention to detail the moment you walk in this isn't a corner cut operation. The staff are exceptional. Professional, prompt, and genuinely pleasant not the rehearsed kind. Every interaction felt like they actually wanted to be helpful. That level of service puts them ahead of properties charging three times the rate around Lekki Phase 2 and Victoria Island. Then there's the zobo. I don't say this lightly it drinks like an exclusive, high-end wine. Complex, rich, refined. The kind of thing a fine dining spot in Lagos would bottle and charge a premium for. The food overall matched that standard. Safe, serene environment. Zero noise issues. Slept better than I expected in Lagos honestly. If you're searching for a luxury hotel experience in Ikota Villa, a top lounge hotel near Lekki-Ajah, or simply the best hotel accommodation in Ikota Lagos. Podium Empire belongs at the top of your list. Book it before everyone else figures it out this secret gem.

The street is not paved and can be messy during rainy season.
