The crowd is so thick that you are basically moving body-to-body with thousands of strangers. You must be streetwise and super vigilant. The "children of darkness" here are professionals, they can smartly unzip your bag or slide a phone out of your tightest pocket without you noticing a single thing. Touts and load carriers are everywhere yelling and pushing through the gaps. Go with a very simple outfit, leave your jewelry at home, hold your bag to your chest

Unbelievable right? I got a few jackets for 100 Naira each and a couple of jeans trousers for the same amount! I also got solid shoes for 1, 600 Naira as well. You can also get new fabrics, bags, jewelry wigs at affordable prices. Apart from thrift cloths 😁, it is such an amazing market when you are to embark on selling used electronics appliances or buying used appliances and all other home use gadgets. You can repair or buy used air condition, blender, fridge, gas cooker and so many other items. There are also alot of services within the market like repairing of borehole engine, recoiling of motor engine, tailors seaming at a tiny side and selling of courtins materials. You can also buy food stuffs here at very cheap rate. I usually thought it was just a Tuesday market but I was wrong. its a daily open market but it has specific days in the week when people come to buy certain goods. For thrift wears visit only on Tuesdays, while Mondays are for shoes, kids wears and school items. If you go on Monday afternoon it is so comfortable shopping and walking! Tuesdays are the busiests because the market fully opens and extends along both asuani and osolo way. On Thursdays it seems to open and extend along asuani road market too. For machine repairs and purchasing, you can go Mondays to Saturdays. Motorist please beware 🛑 because Tuesdays are the only day when a one-way rule is enforced on vehicles coming into the street, and parking space is hard to find. The market is cleaner now and more constructions is done on site which will bring in more people to sale. I didn't have a good experience the first time I went there but now it's a regular market for me. Faux, new and made to wear dresses here and there, huh my Africa prints in huge quantity! I finally purchased that beautiful, shinny and quality set of cooking pots at an awesome price. I'm sure there are many more items within the market that I'm yet to discover due to its vastness. Just be very much careful because a lot of people come to steal there which most of them are women.

It’s predominantly run by the Yoruba community, so many of the local food items you’d expect in traditional cooking are easy to find here. What I really liked is that most of the sellers bring their goods directly from farms or suppliers, so you can tell the items are fresh. The market isn’t the cheapest because it’s located inside the town and caters to daily shoppers, but the quality of goods is worth it. It’s a great spot if you want fresh ingredients and a real local market experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re sourcing foodstuff in Lagos!
