Fast forward a few years later, a Monday afternoon lunch date with a girlfriend, after our first and second choices were both closed, and Gusto ended up being the closest option. I’m so glad I didn’t immediately shut it down. The indoor ambiance felt upscale and spacious, much more refined than my first experience. That said, coming in from the hot outdoors, it could definitely have been a lot cooler inside.
The service was attentive and pleasant, and the food was actually quite tasty this time around, though the portions were on the smaller side. Overall, a much better experience than my first visit and a reminder that timing (and seating choice) can really shape your impression of a place.

Natalie K.★★★★★ — We visited Four Guys in Abuja after receiving several recommendations and went specifically for their Chinese menu during our short five-day stay in the city. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef, but both dishes were completely inedible. The food was overwhelmingly and unpleasantly sweet, drenched in what tasted like nothing more than sugar, food colouring, and cornstarch. The Kung Pao Chicken did not resemble Kung Pao in any way, and the Mongolian Beef was deep-fried and then coated in the exact same overly sweet sauce. Neither dish reflected Chinese cuisine, and both plates had to be left untouched because they were simply impossible to eat.
The flavors were so distinctly different from what we expected that we even remarked that the food tasted Filipino - and to our surprise, when we asked to speak with the manager, he informed us that the chef is indeed Filipino. This explained the flavour profile, but it also highlighted how misleading the menu descriptions are for anyone expecting authentic Chinese food (or even anything remotely close to it).
Despite the poor food experience, the manager handled the situation exceptionally well. He listened carefully to our feedback, apologized sincerely, and offered us complimentary desserts. The tiramisu and chocolate brownie he provided were genuinely excellent and far better than the meal itself.
In summary:
• Chinese menu: Not authentic and inedible.
• Food quality: Overly sweet, incorrectly prepared, and inaccurately labeled.
• Service: Excellent; the manager was professional and accommodating.
• Desserts: Outstanding.
I would strongly advise against visiting Four Guys for Chinese cuisine, as the dishes are not representative of Chinese cooking and were unfortunately not edible. However, the service and desserts were commendable.

I ordered online about 2 hours before getting there. When I got there my order was ready but I wasn't served the tilapia fish I had ordered instead I was given a cat fish. I complained and they changed it after waiting for another 15 minutes.
When the tea was served, I was given a cracked glass to use 😆 😆 it tasted different from the one I had been enjoying at the other outlet close to ministry of mines and steel. They added too much of a particular spice that swallowed all other spices, no ginger taste in it, I just didn't feel good about it. I was hoping the fish would come out better than the tea and I will be satisfied.
When the fish arrived, the dressing was superb but it didn't taste as sweet as a marinated fish. I felt like causing a scene but I didn't want to embarrass the guest I was with. How can fish be tasting like a yam? Plain without the sweetness that protein is known for. My experience at signature wasn't good so if I have to visit there again, I will stick to the branch close to ministry of mines and steel.

The food was delicious, but the service was really slowww, and not sharp.
The second time I came here again, I placed an order the first time, they came back after about 15 minutes and told me they don’t have it. I ordered something else again, they don’t have it. I settled once more for the Smokey special rice. I placed order for a drink, learnt my lesson this time and asked what was available, and let me pick from that option. I was shown, and I made my decision. They came back again, they don’t have it, nothing among those options were available.….what then do you have? I just completely forgot about the whole drink and stuck to water.
Once again, their food is really tasty, I tried their swallow too, and the soup was loaded with protein. Portion sizes are good, and they’re worth the price, but their service is really slow, and it seems they themselves aren’t even aware of what’s available and what’s not. 🤦🏾♀️
I don’t think I’d come here again, but if you do come, ask what they have before placing an order.

One of the standout aspects of this place is the staff; they’re always genuinely helpful, and give great recommendations, if you want one. Victor mixed us up a nice sauce the last time and it elevated the entire meal (so always ask for sauce, guys!!)
As of this review (pre–May 2026), the restaurant operates in a very small space (in Los Angeles mall) with only a handful of tables. Reservations are highly encouraged (scratch that, required!). Downside is even with one, availability can still be uncertain and a bit of a “hope for the best” situation.. but the limited space problem also means you can’t linger long after your meal, as tables turn over quickly (on this, the staff are not very subtle. Last time, we had one of the staff literally glare and point at us 20 mins after our meal, we had to pay up, get up and leave, was understandable but pretty uncomfortable) Soo, if you’re looking for a relaxed, extended dining experience with plenty of time to chat after, this might not be the ideal spot.
That said, they’re reportedly moving to a larger location (in Wuse, I believe) in May 2026, which could address this. So if you’re reading this then, hopefully that’s no longer an issue!
