My only quest was to obtain a hardcopy receipt. A simple mission, you would think. I asked for one. They smiled and assured me it would be “automatically sent by email.” Comforting—except no one could confirm which email. I insisted on a printed receipt, but the reception stood firm, guarding the printer as if it were a state secret.
Eventually, I surrendered and asked which email address they had on file. Answer: none. So the automatic email system was apparently operating on faith alone. I provided my email address, and now I wait, optimistic that somewhere, somehow, a receipt is bravely trying to find its way to me.

Until it came time to pay for the bill and the waiter added the wrong drinks to our bill. I would've suspected it was a simple mistake but there were only a few people there so he wasn't busy at all. So just pay attention to your bill in hopes they don't pull a fast one on you.

Alcohol is not allowed on the premises, which may not suit every guest. Also, they are quite strict about misplaced key cards and charge a replacement fee. I feel this could be handled more flexibly, as many international hotels simply replace lost cards without much fuss.
That said, the hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. They clearly make an effort to maintain international standards. The food at the Chinese restaurant was very good, and the ram suya was especially impressive. The pool area is private and well maintained. Most importantly, the staff are very professional.
