Love their bread, it's one of the best in Ijebu Ode.
Joshua O.★★★★★ — VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE BY STAFF AND CUSTOMER CARE.
I recently had an unpleasant encounter with a staff member at Diadem supermarket. I arrived at the supermarket on a bike and was greeted by the staff member with the words "leave your bag there". However, I only needed to grab a loaf of bread, which was within my reach without having to enter the store. Despite my explanation, the staff member insisted that I leave my bag, which I eventually did. My bag was just by my side where I was asked to drop it as I grabbed the bread which was close to the entrance without moving an inch, and proceeded to pay at the cashier's desk just by the left.
To my surprise, the cashier refused to accept my payment because I was not standing directly opposite her. She insisted that I move to her side of the counter before she would take my payment. I thought she was joking at first, but she was serious. Frustrated, I decided to abandon my purchase and leave the store.
Upon getting home, I called the customer care representative to report my experience, but to my dismay, the representative hung up on me and called my complaint "nonsense." This made me realize that the mistreatment I experienced was not just an isolated incident but rather a systemic issue within that workplace.
I sent her a private message to let her know that I'm going to share this act in their review on. Social media... She replied with a dare. What she wrote was a proof that she didn't even listen to me earlier on.
Ways to Improve: Staff member should be trained to be professional at all times. Just because I was able to grab the bread without moving from my position and also make a payment, the staff members took it personal to do all within I reach to ensure I leave my bag an get into the shop when it wasn't necessary.
Customer Care: Professional training for customer care to be able to address customers' complaints without using insulting words. Their words should be seasoned with salt.
