Holiness S.★★★★★ — Protesters stormed the National assembly for protests against electoral law reforms.
These protests resulted in an emergency meeting of the upper chamber of the national assembly; the house of senate, to deliberate on the way forward.
Eventually, the electronic transmission of results from polling stations that had been smuggled out was reinstated, albeit with a provision to allow manual transfer where there is network failure.
Stella D.★★★★★ — Was at the National Assembly library and Resource center and the place was really great. We had a meeting and the place was beautiful lots of arts were put in place there was interesting. Its good to take a look at the place its quite worth the while.
Ezra M.★★★★★ — The building is very massive, it covers the entire road from Mabushi junction to a Pedestrian bridge.
Is easily accessible and locate-able.
Isaiah C.★★★★★ — The building is solar powered and I heard they have Tesla car charger there
Sikemi★★★★★ — 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆: 𝗔 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀
𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝟰.𝟱
I recently visited the UN House in Abuja for a WIPO event. As expected for a facility of this nature, security is the top priority. It is an interesting, highly structured process that first-time visitors should prepare for.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀:
1. 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸: You must have a confirmed appointment and a valid ID that matches the invitation list.
2. 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: Standard body and bag scans follow.
3. 𝗜𝗗 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: You are required to leave your ID at the gate in exchange for a visitor’s pass. While slightly jarring, it is standard protocol here.
4. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆: Visitors are gathered in a waiting area until there is a sufficient group size or an escort is ready.
5. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝘁: A security officer must escort the group to the main reception.
𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀-𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁
* 𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗛𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀" 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: The walk from the security gate to the main building is quite a distance. If you are wearing heels, be prepared for a bit of a trek, or consider changing into a pair of shoes for the walk.
* 𝗕𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲: Do not arrive "on time." Add 𝟮𝟬–𝟯𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 to your schedule to account for security layers and the walk to reception.
𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁:
Once you reach the reception, the experience aligns with any high-end professional establishment. It was an insightful session, and the facility was well-managed. Now that I understand the "workflow," my next visit will be even smoother.
Yinda B.★★★★★ — High security as expected, make sure you have an appointment and a valid means of identification.
daniel E.★★★★★ — They have a nice hall called ROTUNDA and they also have a nice staff restaurant .
Ewa T.★★★★★ — 1. Location: Federal secretariat, opposite Ministry of Education(MOE).
2. Process: Smooth, efficient and fast paced. Upload your documents before going for submission of documents you want to authenticate, print out your remita(3 copies) and make photocopies of your documents. Be there anything from 9am-1pm, if you come earlier than 9am, the securities will request that you stay outside the main gate till 9am. When you go in, you'll be given a number and requested to pay the sum of #300 for official jacket. After that, you'll have to go home and then come back by 3pm for collection of documents. You can only collect your documents using the number you were given earlier, so please do not lose it. Once you have successfully collected your documents, you'll be directed to the revenue office inside the main building where you'll be charged #500 or #1000 for revenue depending on the country you're authenticating your documents for.
Note: Please confirm from the embassy if there's a type of signature they do not accept so your documents won't be rejected because of that. Once you verify that, notify them at ministry of foreign affairs(MOFA).
Ambience: 100%
Steeze: 100%
Customer service: 90% the securities can be so rude attimes
These are personal experiences from the three times I've been to the ministry. Your experience might differ from mine, but it definitely won't be much. I'll add a few pictures and videos below for better understanding.
david K.★★★★★ — Don't waste your time going to there, you wont be allowed in
Ewaade 3A★★★★★ — The security at the gate (the uniformed officers) were so annoying
I was harassed.
There are several agents at the gate. Before you even get to say what you want, they would gather round you and quickly tell you everything about CAC is done online, visitors are not allowed inside.
The location was pretty easy yo locate though
Olorunfemi A.★★★★★ — The car park management is just funny... You pack in a vacant place while the 'officers' watch you. Then a rap on your window "oga you cannot park hia. You have to go upstairs. But I can help you..." Nonesense...
David U.★★★★★ — Really, this is where our oil boom was all invested in.
So many gigantic buildings, yet there are still multiple undeveloped lands in every corner of Abuja.
The Federal Secretariate houses all the ministries in Nigeria. That is where they have their headquarters.
The complexe, despite looking beautiful is not up to standard inside. Just like a sheep in wolves clothing.
Not to talk about the lackadaisical attitudes exhibited by the staff working there. There's too much bureaucracy in the ministries, before you can get anything done and in time you must be someone of great influence.
Anyiade T.★★★★★ — "I recently visited the Federal Secretariat in Abuja and was thoroughly impressed with the facility's grandeur, organization, and efficiency. The complex is a testament to Nigeria's rich history and architectural prowess.
The security protocols in place are top-notch, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all visitors. The staff were courteous, helpful, and professional, making navigation and conducting business a breeze.
The secretariat's layout is well-planned, with clear signage and easy access to various ministries and departments. The facilities are well-maintained, clean, and modern, making for a pleasant experience.
I was particularly impressed with the ministry of interior team, who went above and beyond to assist me with my inquiry.
Overall, I'm delighted with my experience at the Federal Secretariat and would highly recommend it to anyone needing to conduct government business in Abuja. Keep up the fantastic work!
