OLAMIDE A.★★★★★ — I visited Crossover recently and had such a pleasant experience from start to finish. From the parking area, the welcome was warm and organized. My friend kept teasing me that the food portions were so big I wouldn’t finish mine and would definitely be asking for a takeaway pack, she wasn’t wrong.
We were seated upstairs, great ambience and a cooling system that actually worked (always a plus). Our drinks arrived first, the orange juice I ordered tasted freshly made not the watery kind and it was really refreshing.
When the food came, I understood the warnings. I ordered poundo yam with seafood okro, and the portion was massive rich, well-seasoned, and loaded I genuinely enjoyed every bite. The background music was a nice touch early 2000s throwbacks that had us singing along at some point. It made the whole atmosphere feel relaxed and fun.
Special mention to our waiter, MaryJane. She was polite, attentive, and handled everything smoothly without hovering. She made the experience even better.
I’ll definitely be back and next time, I’m trying something other than swallow (though it’ll be hard to resist).

It was too DELISH that I ordered for another plate. The ambience is nice, the space is very CLEAN and our server Emmanuel went above and beyond! Emmanuel truly deserves employee of the year. Also, the beautiful lady with the all back braids taught us how to play Ayo. She was so sweet and has a charming smile. I’ll visit again soonest.

Banor A.★★★★★ — My wife was craving Nkwobi, so I searched Google for a nice place where we could hang out and satisfy her craving. I saw a few options but chose this place because of its Igbo name, “Okonkwo,” expecting authentic Igbo dishes.
Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment.
My wife ordered Nkwobi while I ordered Abacha. When the food arrived, neither met basic expectations. The Nkwobi had no real Nkwobi taste. The sauce was not thick as it should be with potash; instead, it seemed like red oil fried with onions, lacking the traditional flavour completely.
The Abacha was also poorly prepared. There was no utazi, the ugba was very scanty, and instead of fish (which is the proper protein), it was served with chicken. Even then, the chicken portion was very small and not worth the price.
This experience was disappointing, especially given the expectations set by the name of the restaurant. Management really needs to improve on the preparation of these dishes. I can’t speak for other meals, but for Abacha and Nkwobi, it’s a no for me. Honestly, it didn’t feel like these meals were prepared by people familiar with authentic Igbo cooking.
Y-Hama★★★★★ — We held a farewell party for a colleague here. The restaurant is spacious and has a great atmosphere. The food was delicious, and everyone enjoyed it. The live music on stage was upbeat and lively, though a bit loud for conversation. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
Josiah I.★★★★★ — Let me just say I was disappointed with everything I had here, I came here with great recommendations from a friend but it was the opposite, I got a large size cat fish and it’s the worst fish I’ve ever had, it was tasteless, omg, I ordered Ukwobi and it was just bowl of fresh onion and the meat was tasteless, the palm wine was horrible, even the fresh pineapple juice was sour in taste, I wasted my N63,500, the only thing I enjoyed here was the Swam Bottle Water and the restroom. I’m definitely not coming back or recommending anyone.

The issue is not orders taking too long to be served, but the speed and walking posture of the serving staff, which was not really good. The staff who prepares the juice at the extreme should chit-chat less and focus on his job. He can always chit-chat after the juice preparation, not during it. I understand it is an outdoor space, but is there any way to deal with the flies lurking around the barest minimum?
