Paul O.★★★★★ — Cool hotel to stay in Gombe. Their rooms are all luxury room and pallow with 2 AC, 2 TV, good refrigerator, good good and all.
Faith E.★★★★★ — It's a quiet place located in a serene environment in Gombe. Nice rooms but the TV set is too small and very far. It will be great if the TV can be changed. They served a complimentary breakfast which was delicious. The room rates are fair. They still make use of Manual guests bill and do not have a computer printout. This is something the management may need to look into providing. I had a nice stay during my visit overall.
Adinna F.★★★★★ — I am yet to understand why people visit here. The story behind this place isn't giving me the vibe I need.
Charles J.★★★★★ — My Visit to Mobee Slave Museum, Badagry – A Powerful Experience
I recently visited the Mobee Slave Relics Museum in Badagry, and it was a deeply emotional and eye-opening experience. The museum, although small in size, holds a massive piece of history. Walking through the artifacts, chains, and stories told by the guide gave me a chilling glimpse into the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade.
What struck me most was how real and personal everything felt. The guide was knowledgeable and passionate, explaining the role Badagry played during the slave era, and how the Mobee family was involved. Seeing original shackles, trade items like mirrors and alcohol, and reading the names of those lost made history feel alive — and painful.
It’s not just a museum; it’s a call to remember, to learn, and never to forget.
Pros:
Knowledgeable and passionate guides
Authentic artifacts and powerful storytelling
Important cultural and historical education
Cons:
Some areas could benefit from renovation or better preservation
More signage or interactive elements would enhance the experience
Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Mobee Slave Museum to anyone interested in African history, slavery, or cultural heritage. It’s a humbling experience that left a lasting impact on me.
