My recent experience there on January 3rd, 2024, was a complete disaster, marred by abysmal testing conditions that would make even the most composed test-taker sweat (both figuratively and literally). Prepare to roast, not to test: The first hurdle was the sweltering purgatory that was the waiting area and orientation room. No A/C, no fans, just stifling heat that left everyone sticky and miserable. When I dared to inquire about the test room's promised A/C, I was met with a hollow assurance that proved about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Promises, promises: Imagine battling through the Listening and Reading sections in a sauna, with only a measly fan offering a pathetic excuse for relief. I pleaded with the staff twice, and while they finally flicked on the main generator during Reading, the A/C remained resolutely comatose. This transformed the test into a battle against the elements, not the English language. Speaking in a stuffy sauna: As if the prior sections weren't bad enough, the Speaking test continued the heatwave. The lack of ventilation made the room feel like a closed-in oven, adding to the already stressful situation. My focus, and likely my performance, suffered immensely under these sweltering conditions. Demanding accountability: I'm not taking this lying down. I've demanded a thorough investigation and a concrete plan to fix these unacceptable testing conditions. If they don't take my concerns seriously, I'm escalating this to the relevant authorities. Final verdict: Save yourself the stress and sweat. Choose any other IELTS test center than Mod Towers Alagomeji. Your test score and your sanity will thank you. Bonus tip: Don't bother, they don't respond to emails they just take people's money? Allow u fail by force so you can register again.
• Ezeobiakor I. ★★★★★ — Nice place for a test. Very nice staff, location was easy to find and easy to leave from as well. Staff was happy and willing to assist in any way possible. The centre and organisation could do with some improvements. I would start by saying the air conditioning in the waiting room needs to be replaced. They had fans, which didn't do so well. The black window absorbed heat, which made the place really hot in the afternoon. The toilet leaves a little more to be desired. I understand it isn't meant to be used like most others, but at least. The Internet connection for the speaking test can be improved to eliminate the small lag between the examiner moving his lips and the sound from the headphones. The login details can be typed instead of hand written. It helps to prevent typos and having to call for assistance and at least looks more professional in presentation. Overall, my experience was positive. I wish others luck.
