For context, he tried paying with his card twice and on both occasions the POS device malfunctioned and either kept loading or didn’t display that the transactions were successful. As a result it was assumed that the payment failed. He then went to the nearby UBA bank and withdrew cash which he used to pay for the dining table and chairs. On getting home he was debited twice and of those two debits he eventually had a single reversal. Since that time we have visited this furniture store severally for them to check their own accounts so they can refund us if they had been credited and it’s been an absolute nightmare dealing with them. It’s just been from one story to another. The amount in question is 120k naira. I believe an establishment at this time should be able to responsibly handle situations like this and see it through till the end. But then they have been very nonchalant about the situation and are unwilling to check their records to make the required refund where applicable. If you’re not paying in cash I’d say just steer clear of these people. With experiences like this you can absolutely predict how their response and assistance will be for other different situations. That aren’t going to even listen to you once money has changed hands. I’ll advice you don’t patronize them for your sanity.
They’re such a lousy bunch of employees I’m sure none of them would bother enquiring into this situation even after leaving this review.
