Baliqis A.★★★★★ — The customer service was top notch!!!!! 20/10
And the food? Omg loved ittttt.
And prices? Things are expensive everywhere 😭sadly.
So great! Highly recommend
Titilope A.★★★★★ — First off, when they said they open by 12 noon, they meant it. Got there earlier and I had to wait outside, with my toddler 😩 as I was meeting with a friend. We went there two days after Christmas and myself and my friend were the first customers. I’m a drink kinda person but unfortunately, they only had one choice of drink, Virgin Sunrise (took the non alcoholic one. Apparently they’ve same drink with alcohol). I’m not entirely sure what to make of that drink, it was pretty basic. My two-year old had ice cream (only vanilla flavor was available). When it was time to order our meals, my friend was helpful (she’s a regular). She ordered the fiery wings platter and I ordered for something half chicken (can’t remember what it is called). We waited a while before the food was served (we were the only customers at the time, just imagining what it’d be like if they had a full house) Meal was ok, a few burnt sides on the chicken but not bad. The chicken and rice was really spicy, my toddler couldn’t eat it.
Customer service was great, staff were great, took some videos and pictures of us. Will I go there again? Yeah, probably to try something else on their menu. Was the food worth the price? Yeah.
Rapheal T.★★★★★ — Do not expect to enjoy the kind of food and services they offer on their adverts, its a direct opposite.. I was so unhappy eating and paying more at ile iyan Akala express.....
Temitope I.★★★★★ — I had pounded yam and afang with goat meat. The pounded yam was good, fresh and hot, and the right texture. No lumps, thankfully.
The afang did not, in any way, taste like afang. It was very disappointing; maybe because I've lived in the South-South, I had bigger expectations of the afang. But although the soup was below my expectation and the quantity was quite small, it was nice and tasty.
The goat meat, on the other hand, was really really good. It was big, well flavoured, nicely cooked so it was easy to cut, and the taste was superb. And it was really worth the price. However, children could easily get overwhelmed with the size of the goat meat, so they may need to cut to smaller pieces for when they want to serve children.
I had hoped there would be amala because I had seen it on their menu but it wasn't readily available so one would have to wait for it to be prepared; after all, they're Ile Iyan and not Ile Amala.
Overall, it was not a bad experience and I may be visiting again to have a taste of other soups.
Eleng A.★★★★★ — A trial will convince you. If you've ever had a bad taste, restore it with a good taste from Eka kitchen and I promise you your life will know no bad taste anymore.
Sandra E.★★★★★ — Everyone that has tasted Calabar food knows that it is da bomb! It is thoughtful of this business to provide home to Southerners in Ibadan with tasty meals that feel just like home! At affordable prices too!
Ogedengbe O.★★★★★ — You call a place Ile Iyan but the pounded yam is too soft like a condensed milk with a lot of koko in it, the soup was just there and the meat was blank or something. Nothing worth remembering
The best thing I had was a cold bottle water, I am giving them time to work on themselves more cause I think they just opened
Nikki F.★★★★★ — It was my second visit, and i literally had running stomach, efo riro below average, half of the beef i ordered was rotten...I complained to the staffs, they looked unbothered..Never going back
Idowu O.★★★★★ — I had a very disappointing experience at Ilé Iyan in Ibadan. The food quality was far below expectations. The soup did not taste fresh at all, and the tomatoes had a sour, stale flavor, which completely affected the meal. The snail served was hard and clearly not fresh, making it unpleasant to eat. Overall, the food was tasteless and poorly prepared.
To make matters worse, the prices were unreasonably high considering the low quality of what was served. I expected much better value and freshness for the amount charged.
Unfortunately, this visit did not meet basic standards, and I would not recommend this place based on my experience.
Ifeoluwa O.★★★★★ — The egusi soup I ate was just there. I was really disappointed. Paid 5k to eat that type of soup is a waste of money. Kindly improve. Thanks
