This afternoon, I recommended your restaurant to a friend visiting from another state. She wanted to order a chicken shawarma for herself and a suya shawarma for me. She paid for the order, but immediately after the payment receipt was sent, the restaurant claimed there was no chicken available—and also said refunds were not possible. This is unacceptable and, in fact, illegal, as you cannot keep money for a service not rendered.
My guest insisted on a refund since she does not eat suya, which was being suggested as a replacement. After back and forth, including a phone call and even a threat to visit the store in person, your team suddenly said chicken was available after all, and proceeded with the order.
The delivery was on time, portions were generous as usual, and the suya shawarma was enjoyable. However, the chicken shawarma was a disaster. It tasted as though the meat had been boiled, contained bones, and had an unpleasant smell. It was inedible and had to be thrown away. My guest was extremely disappointed—her ₦13,100 would have bought a far better quality meal elsewhere. I was embarrassed because I had recommended your restaurant to her based on my previous good experiences, but what was served today was unacceptable and far below your usual standard. It felt as though the restaurant used “throwaway meat” just to avoid issuing a refund.
Additionally, your fries are not restaurant standard. You cannot simply chop Irish potatoes, coat them in flour, and deep fry them. There are many accessible resources that show how to prepare proper fries from scratch. If avoiding store-bought frozen French fries, at least ensure your freshly made version meets basic quality standards.
I am disappointed with today’s experience, and while I have enjoyed your food in the past, this incident has made me reconsider ordering from your restaurant again.
