Shogule Central Mosque, should not be any mosque you will find on the street. It settled in a well-known place (2.1km away from Oshodi). Not as big as I expected, and the poor thing is Electricity is absent, not even from a generator, because of the daily fuel fee. The first time I came here was at the time of the Fajr prayer. The generator was on, and as soon as the Salat finished, they needed to turn off the generator to manage the fuel available. The Imam who leads the Salat needs to announce people's contributions to the money they use to buy fuel. This is happening because of the absence of the electricity. As of today, Jan 09, 2025, it was after Ishai prayer (Prayer around 8 PM) that the light was on by the NEPA.
So many of these causes are what they face here daily. I know there should be a committee for the mosque that should be aware of all this stuff, but not all of it can be blamed on them.
Those who are God-fearing know what to do to help the mosque, which can benefit all Muslims who stop by. Even I see some people coming to fetch water from the mosque for their domestic use. This shows that the mosque has more value to Muslims and Non-muslims that make use of the water. Anybody can be of help. As we all know, you are during it for your lord, and this has no concern to the Nigerian government or Lagos state govt, except for their failure in putting stability to the public Electricity.
