    • Rukayyah S. ★★★★★ When it's comes to textiles of all kinds you find it here at a very affordable and company price
    • Sadiq D. ★★★★★ The Kantin Kwari Market is one of the oldest and most international markets in the city of Kano in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria . This market was established in 1934. The name of this market comes from a valley called Kwarin Gogau. There are still some remnants of this valley in Fagge. This Fagge Neighborhood is located across from this North Market. Only a road separates this market from this Neighborhood. And almost now they can be said to have merged into one. Because if you cross from this market, the first line of Fagge Neighborhood from the South is Kasuwar Kantin Kwari, if you cross the road; that is, the North of Fagge Neighborhood, All are shops. For example, if you take from the Plaza Cinema and run North to the Singa Road junction, all are shops. Alhaji Alasan Dantata, and Mamman Goda were among the first people to set up stalls in this market. Later the Kwara came and then the Arabs. There are still Kwaras in this market. If you go into 'Unity Road' in the market, almost all the stalls are Kwaras and their houses combined. Because they were foreigners, they used to build a ground floor, the market ground floor, and a house for their families upstairs. And this system still exists. This Kantin Kwari market is one of the largest markets in Kano, there is a lot of wealth in this market. It is full of clothes.

    • Abdulrasheed J. ★★★★ It's really a great market you can buy alot of goods there both whole sell and retail
    • Sadiq D. ★★★★★ Jakara Market is one of the oldest and most significant traditional markets in **Kano City, Kano State, Nigeria**. Located within the walls of the ancient city near the Emir's Palace, it pulsates with centuries of history as a vital hub for trade and culture. **Key Features:** 1. **Deep Historical Roots:** Part of Kano's ancient trading heritage, dating back to when the city was a major terminus of the Trans-Saharan trade routes. 2. **Traditional Crafts & Goods:** Renowned for its vibrant trade in **local crafts**, especially: * **Leatherwork:** High-quality tanned hides, bags, footwear (morocco leather), and pouches. * **Textiles:** Locally woven fabrics (including `Fagge` brocades), dyed materials, embroidered caps (`hula`), and imported textiles. * **Pottery & Calabashes:** Traditional household and decorative items. * **Spices & Herbs:** Aromatic piles of local and regional seasonings. * **Metalwork:** Brass, copper, and aluminum items. * **Agricultural Produce:** Grains, vegetables, and other staples. 3. **Cultural Significance:** More than just commerce, it's a living cultural space. Its layout and activities reflect Kano's rich Hausa traditions and social structure. It's a focal point during major festivals like the `Hawan Sallah` (Durbar). 4. **Atmosphere:** Expect a bustling, sensory experience – narrow alleys packed with stalls, the smell of leather and spices, the vibrant colors of fabrics, and the energetic calls of traders and buyers negotiating. 5. **Location:** Situated in the very core of the old city (`Birni`), making it easily accessible but also prone to congestion. While facing modern challenges like overcrowding and infrastructure strain, Jakara Market remains an indispensable economic engine for local artisans and traders, and a must-experience destination for anyone seeking the authentic, historic pulse of Kano.
