Walked to the AC units on the wall to the right.
Checked for brands and sizes.
Saw 2 men talking and assumed one of them was the salesperson so I'll wait. Without interrupting.
Checked the TCLs (televisions).
The men divided and one took a call while another went to the back. Ok, that lets me know he works here yet he never spoke to me or my partner.
The second man got off the phone and walked to the back which signaled he also worked there and didn't speak or acknowledge either of us.
I've now walked over to the inverters and solar panels. Took a seat on the orange sofa and still no one addressed us. The two (2) ladies behind the counter look up. It's plain to me my money isn't desired.
Lady comes over and gives her explanation. I thanked her. I told her directly "I'm not Nigerian.." this is to signal whatever customs you have don't align or mean the same to me. It's also to say I don't speak PIDGIN or any tribal tongue. What I do have is an expectation.
I expect service regardless of the fact I'm here to spend millions ... I was befuddled how the males didn't speak or question me neither the partner for anything. The lady said she didn't see my partner and thought I was talking on the phone as so many Nigerians do.
Y'all I walked across the store. I sat through a power blimp/fail and return to power. I sat down after looking at everything. I heard her. I thanked her for explaining but it's not sufficient nor permissible for me. Like, I explained to her... I hear you but it's not a forgiveness or understanding.
I can get maltreatment back home. She promised it had nothing to do with ethnicity or anything else. All I know: it's been 22min in a store and no one addressed me. I called it to her attention to make it known - the dismissiveness endured shows I'm not valued nor is my money.
Management take note. All four (4) need training but the males definitely don't deserve their titles or management designation.
